The Perfect Cup

The espresso machine was originated in Italy, and was originally produced by a large machine run by a person called a barista. But, nowadays, you can purchase your very own espresso maker for your home or office. They come in a variety of styles, but all of them essentially do the same thing - produce a delicious cup of espresso. The stove top espresso maker is most commonly used in Italy. This espresso maker is used without electricity, which makes it more portable for those who like to travel. It produces a dark coffee, compared to some of the electrical espresso makers that produce a much lighter smoother coffee.

Espresso Machine Models

The original pump driven machine is quite popular when it comes to espresso bars. It has special chambers for heating and steaming. It provides a motor pump that powers the machine. The automatic espresso maker is designed to automatically make the perfect cup of coffee. It has a programmed timer that only allows a certain amount of water to pass through the tubes for boiling, making it a fast and efficient way to make a quick cup of espresso. And that leads us to the mother of all espresso makers, the super automatic espresso machine. This machine does everything for you including grinding the coffee, all you have to do is fill it with coffee beans and plenty of water and the work is done for you. A cup of espresso is more than just a cup of Joe! It is a smooth creamy cup that makes the day for you.

The espresso originated in Milan Italy, at the beginning of the 20th century, and has been popular in and out of Italy ever since. Starbucks and Caribou Coffee are just a few of the places that sell espressos around the world, including places like France, Spain, and Australia. Espressos are popular in European countries and even in Asian countries. It can be said that all different cultures and all different parts of the world enjoy the same taste of the espresso.

The History of that Perfect Cup

The first espresso maker was designed in 1901, by Luigi Bezzera, the owner of a manufacturing company. This espresso maker was designed to reduce the amount of time it took to have a coffee break. It did brew faster Luigi's machine produced coffee that was bitter and did not taste as well as some of the slower machines. After many tests, he came up with the theory that the steam had caused the bitterness, and that brewing at exactly 190 degrees produced the best coffee.

Though the more modern day machines were based on the invention "The Gaggia Crema Caffe Machine" built in 1947 that brewed even faster then Luigi's model; his machine was still the first big step made toward a faster cup of coffee. After these models, many followed and the popularity grew more.

Since then espresso makers have become a part of the office culture. Espresso makers can be easily bought online, or at your local appliance store. Prices range from two thousand dollars to one hundred dollars, depending on make, model, and grade. But any way you go, the espresso machine is sure to satisfy your need for that perfect cup of espresso.

Timothy's World Coffee, German Chocolate Cake, K-Cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Sad addition to the Tim Horton's lineup
This coffee is massively weak and the flavour is even weaker. Another reviewer had it right that the flavour has a distinct chemical taste. I don't get a great aroma like the hazelnut for example. This is the first bad experience I've had with any Tim Horton's coffee...at least there are many great ones to choose from.
Customer Review: Not Bad
Actually I ordered this by mistake, but it is not bad. The flavors seem a little on the chemical side. OK for something different.

Tully's Handcrafted K-Cups, Full City Roast, 25ct

This perfectly roasted blend boasts an engaging aroma and inviting spice flavors with a smooth, balanced finish.

Ahhh...The '60's. Long hair. Timothy Leary, Woodstock, and organic foods, not to mention all the vices that came with that generation.

If anything positive came out of my very confused generation (that thought we knew it all at the time), it was a. unique music that is often duplicated, rarely replicated, and an attempt to eat from the earth, that is, more naturally. Health food stores began popping up everywhere and I even owned one. The jury is still out if all the good foods, vitamins, minerals, monthly fasts, etc. counteracted all the nasty chemicals we put into our bodies "out of experimentation". Yes Virginia, I DID inhale, but then again, I'll never run for political office, never plan to, and if you don't like it, that is your issue. I don't do so now.

Even though we did learn some good things out of the Woodstock generations, like "coffee is bad" because it contains too much caffeine and perhaps that is why our "parents were so weird", now we are in the coffee generation.

I can prove quite easily. If I had the power and gave you the choice, two free tickets to a brand new third Woodstock, but if you went, which would include airfare, I would be forced to shut down every major coffee chain in the world. You don't have to tell me. I know what you would pick.

It's like that tough question. How important is the Internet to you? If you had to give something else up, just as important what (or whom) would it be? That's a tough question and one we usually have to ponder.

One good thing about the coffee-age in which we live, is that we also love to make our own gourmet taster rarely drinks chain coffees knowing that they can be stale and that rancidity covered with flavors and chemicals so many of us opt to drink our gourmet coffees at home.

This means enjoying our favorite coffee mugs. Many are even beginning to collect the best coffee mugs on the market. Many can be found on Ebay, Amazon.com and even speciality coffee mug shops. I shop all around, but my favorite are at Just Funny Mugs. They each contain a Londons Times Cartoon on them, and nothing is more fun than to wake up in the morning, get one's caffeine fix, and remember that funny cartoon all day. It can be a double lift.

Cartoonist/writer Rick London launched the Internet's top offbeat cartoon site Londons Times Cartoons in 1997 which receives millions of visitors a year. He's also recently launched Just Funny Mugs http://www.justfunnycoffeemugs.com which feature some of his best work and a major superstore http://www.ricklondoncollection.com His main cartoon site, which features over 8500 original cartoons is at http://www.londonstimes.us

Customer Review: Pretty good stuff!
I love the k-cups and the fact that I can get them in so many different flavors. French vanilla smells and tastes yummy!
Customer Review: Not enough French Vanilla flavor
While the coffee is great, I was expecting the flavor of French Vanilla. It wasn't there. I don't think I'll reorder this one.

Professional Headphones are for the people who make their living with sound, or simply those who can't settle for anything less than the best.

Often DJ's, Drummers, Singers, Guitarists, Bassists, cameramen and sound engineers need to have extreme sound isolation from the outside world and have perfect crisp sound inside their headphones to do their job their best. That's where these professional headphones earn their high price tag.

These headphones have advanced diaphragm systems that eliminate distorted sound and can be hooked directly into a very high quality hi fi system.

Professional Headphones go Cordless:
Now audio professionals have cordless choices. Sennheiser, Sony, JVC, and Acoustic Research are some of the brands at the forefront of technology. You can expect to pay a heftier price for a set of professional wireless headphones, anywhere from $50 to $300 and up.

What a great way to go for the professional though...Cordless Professional Headphones are a must. Drummers, DJ's, cameramen and other pros need their freedom of movement along with the top notch sound quality and isolation from the external environment. The last thing you need is another cord to worry about!

Check out a good headphones review site for side by side comparisons of features. Make sure to choose the features that are most important to you. Some may boast a long range of motion, only to skimp on surround sound abilities and compatibility with certain input sources.

Gamers! Unplug yourself! Gaming headsets are going wireless as well. There is a nice variety out there to choose from.

Gloria Jean's Coffees, K-Cup, Cappuccino for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Bad taste, it's not a cappuccino
I bought a keurig beverage maker, and I love the cappuccino coffee, so I decided to try this version of Gloria Jean's. I'm very disapointed, is not only that is not a cappuccino, it's just flavored, but the taste is bad. it's not enough strong.
Customer Review: Disappointed.
I was so very disappointed with this K cup. There is nothing about this blend that suggests Cappuccino. The flavors seem fake and not pleasing. Sorry I have so much of it.

You can't always be lucky in a storm like Hurricane Ike. These events seem to randomly pick and choose their victims, so I must first state I'm ever so thankful we escaped major damage. That certainly makes a little inconvenience and discomfort in the aftermath easier to bear.

There's also something we did before the storm that's been key in keeping us out of the lines you see on television. We prepared. For this - and for our continued comfort after five days without electricity - I must credit my Southern Louisiana-bred Cajun Hubby, for whom this was not the first rodeo.

I'll admit, though, that his "experienced" hurricane preparation tactics did not at first jibe with my newbie hurricane-readiness ideas. "No plywood on the windows?" I'd ask. "Naw, they're protected enough. What we need is gas," he'd reply. And so on...

So, with an empty porch, stuffed pantry, full tanks in anything that holds fuel, he-man generator, cooler of bottled water, gas stove, hand-crank flashlights and battery-operated candles, full bathtub for flushing the toilet if water is off (good to know), and exposed windows - we faced the storm.

Oh, my!

The following morning, bleary-eyed, I surveyed the damage. Windows, check. Roof, check. Trees, not so check. Neighbors' property, more of the same. Power, off for hours... but what's that rumbling noise I hear outside?

In walks Cajun Hubby, with an array of extension cords snaking from he-man generator. Within a minute, I have a working fridge, fan, coffeemaker, and would you believe it? Dish Network on the flat screen television! We are officially the most popular family on the block - what a man.

Events like this bring out the neighborliness in people, so the roar of chainsaws soon fills the air as everyone pitches in to clear trees and marvel at our area's relative good fortune. My daughter delivers carafes of coffee up and down the street and we thrill to know that, unlike nearby neighborhoods, we still have running water.

Five days later, we're still at it and doing fine. It doesn't concern me (too much) that the neighbors opposite us have had power for two days and we're still rumbling along. It will come. Anyways, Cajun Hubby says it's cool... we haven't tapped the gas in the other Waverunner yet.

I'd say we're good for another week without much worry - and we just may have to be!
